First, I would like to give a big thanks to natural sunlight. You are an amazing help to my photography. *bows*
Secondly, I’m going to take a moment to comment on this sugar cookie recipe. (Again, it can be found here.)
- SHAPE – This recipe does a marvelous job holding the cutter’s shape. HOWEVER, as seen with the hand cookies above, it does “bloat.” The cookie both swells a little larger than the cutter and spreads out between the top and bottom. For shapes without “fingers” as mine had, this would be no problem. Avoid using cutters with extensive edge surface. (Hearts, circles, stars, eggs, etc, would have no problem.)
- COLOR – For inquiring decorators, these cookies came out very pale with the slightest of yellow/peach color. (The photographs above capture their color very accurately.)
- TASTE – These cookies are a little bland for my taste, but that is why all sugar cookie recipes come coupled with an icing recipe/suggestion or have sugar sprinkled on top before baking. (They’re there for a reason!) Paired with the melting candies, these cookies are marvelous.
- TEXTURE – As stated in the blogger’s recipe, these cookies were meant to be firm on the outside and chewy on the inside. They do this. I love them. I ate far too many last night because of how soft and chewy they are.
Sorry I didn’t have the brainpower to add these to my blog last night. I hope you still enjoy!
